Public health is the science of preventing disease, promoting health, and prolonging life within entire populations.
Public Health and Health Education Specialists develop and implement strategies to improve the health of individuals and communities, empower individuals to make healthy changes in their everyday lives, and advocate for social changes that improve health equity for our communities.
We approach public health using a strong social justice and health equity lens that informs our curriculum, guides our research, and influences our collaborative efforts.
I’m learning how to communicate my work in ways that matter beyond academia. It’s about making sure research reaches the people and systems that can change things.
